Calling All Angels to a weekend of fun with Project AngelFaces!
New Vista Garden of Project AngelFaces event, Friday 6 May, Saturday May 7th, 2011 9 am-1 pm @
New Vista Ranch 7875 N. Rainbow Blvd. Las Vegas, NV 89131
Wish List: Please bring these items to help us complete our tasks on Friday, if you have them.
Flame Thrower weed killers with fuel tanks,
a load of free mulch from the MG Orchard,
Chicken wire, (any length of roll will help)
staple guns with staples,
gallon jugs of white vinegar (to make some weed killer for dousing everything once we’ve flamed it all up!),
and a wheel barrow or two.
The following is a list of tasks that we are hoping to accomplish at this event:
~weed entire garden area; we’ll do as much as we can, depending on how many join us. (We need YOU to join us, and bring your friends!)
~make batches of organic weed killer with white vinegar, salt, and dish detergent
~lay mulch ground cover over areas that have been weeded and where organic weed killer is applied.
~move remaining soil from covered piles into garden boxes using wheelbarrows, 20 gallon buckets, and the cart.
~move soil from yellow bed into other beds and move yellow bed into proper spacing place.
~level out soil in areas where it is uneven inside garden area.
~move all remaining beds into place.
~cover all irrigation that is connected with soil
~plant 3 trees and one aloe in the area called Meditation Space 1.
~plant 1 cottonwood seedling in area where salt cedar was removed.
~plant 2 palm trees on NE outer corner of garden space.
~install remaining irrigation lines; cover them over with dirt.
~weed and level the trenches in all areas of garden.
We will, of course, accomplish as much of this ambitious list as we are able at one time, depending on how many people can join us and pitch in. Many hands make light work for all, so come join us!
Also, everyone needs to bring their own protection from the elements: long pants, closed toes on shoes, gloves, hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, handkerchief, water bottle. I will have fresh water to refill your bottle, and snacks. Please, no children under 10 for safety reasons.

You are invited to come on down to First Friday in the Downtown Arts District. See our installation where we are raising funds and awareness for our work! Come to The Box Office on the corner of California and Commerce, see and purchase loads of local art, listen to live music, and support the efforts of Project AngelFaces! We’ll be there from open to close, 6 pm to 10 pm, so bring your wings, come flitter around with us, and raise some funds and awareness! Its a blast!! Join us!
